Whilst the basic hydraulic and mechanical aspects of our pumps are from established parameters, each unit is custom engineered to suit our clients’ process application. This flexible approach ensures the optimum features essential for trouble free, low maintenance installation.
Hydraulic ends are designed for heavy duty service with thicknesses ample to cater for corrosive service. Generally manufactured in “milled-from-solid” format using certified billet materials, the resulting dense material eliminates casting failures and porosity, giving greater service life, whilst still being competitively priced. Casings of concentric, single volute and double volute designs. Impellers of open, semi-open and shrouded designs all available, as are recessed ‘vortex’ or single channel designs to handle large concentrations, of solids and effluents containing fibrous materials which commonly lead to clogging of the pump.
Pumping and Technical Services Limited are able to supply units in a wide variety of corrosion resistant, exotic materials such as titanium, zirconium, incoloy and super duplex. Pumps are usually electrically driven but can also be supplied with air or hydraulic driven motors.
Installation
There are two standard methods on installation, the pump can be suspended on a chain and lowered into position coming to rest on its feet provided on the pump casing. A flexible delivery pipe would usually be utilised for this installation. Alternatively, a guide rail and duck foot can be provided, this is installed in the sump or tank, down which the pump is lowered onto a bracket mounted at the bottom, to which the delivery pipe is connected. The pump outlet connection engages a port on the fixed bracket, allowing fluid to pass into the delivery pipe. For this installation both the guide rail and duck foot can be supplied in matching corrosion resistant material.
